This is a concentrate. Heat the base and distilled water separately to 70°C-75°C. Slowly add water to the base while stirring continuously to form a smooth emulsion. Let it cool before adding heat-sensitive actives or fragrance.

• Formulator's Tip: Use a high-shear mixer (blender) during the initial water addition to ensure a smooth, lump-free texture. Add preservatives only after the temperature drops below 40°C.

Q: Can I use this base directly on my hair?
A: No, this is a concentrate. It must be diluted with water following the Hot Process method before use.

Q: How much water should I add to Base 55?
A: Depending on the desired thickness, you can usually add 3 to 5 parts of water to 1 part of base.
